Introduction :
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
With all due respect to the Dogtown Z Boys and Jeff Ho, and the Zepher Surf
Team, Daniel Bearer is a member of the Makaha Skateboard Club, the First
Professional Skateboard Club, the New York Yankees of Skateboarding and
the Hobie Golden Diamond Surf Team.
Daniel won the First National Skateboard Championships at Covina Park,
Los Angeles County 1964 and First International Skateboard Championships
Event at La Palma Stadium, at Anaheim, Orange County in 1965. He is also
an inductee of the first draft in the Thrasher Magazine Skateboard Hall of
Fame on May 1st,1988 at the Slam City Jam in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
"DEFENSE ABOVE ALL" is the working title of the story of birth of
Professional Surfing and Skateboarding in the 1960's in California !

It has been 45 years since the First Skateboard Tournament took place
in Hermosa Beach. This day a Historical Society Museum for the new
sport and art of Skateboarding presented the preview of the long
awaited documentary "Makaha the Originator!" in Hermosa
Beach, at the same spot now known as the Hermosa Beach Sport
Center on Thursday, July 31st, 2008 A.D.
The place was buzzing with an overfilled house. The noise was so loud
that it was hard to get the show started! Richard Lawrence Stevenson
was there, the Father of the Skateboard, his son Curt, Club Riders
Danny Bearer, Bruce Logan and owner/ producer/ director Shawn
Bryant, all around good guys representing The Makaha Skateboard and
Ski Club!
